BioFor a long time, Sasarai believed himself to be an orphan, raised by the Temple, and gifted with the True Earth Rune as a sign of the Temple's recognition of his immense talents. He studied under the greatest minds in Harmonia in Rune magic, sorcery, politics, and military sciences. He saw his first military test in the Dunan Unification War, where his forces were routed by someone who fled with the seer Leknaat some 10 years earlier, who bore the True Wind Rune, and a striking resemblance to him. Afterwords, he dealt with a political crisis involving a rogue Howling Voice Guild member trying to infiltrate the aristocracy. After that incident, he gained increased political power, and a special agent that he would use to assist him in both the Second Fire Bringer War, and the events afterwords. Sasarai's world view came crashing around him during the Second Fire Bringer War, after being routed by the new Flame Champion, Hugo. There, he confronted Luc face-to-face for the first time and was told that they were both brothers, and clones of the Chief Bishop and God-King of Harmonia, Hikusaak, who bears the Circle Rune, to merely hold the True Runes they now carry for Him. Extremely shaken by this revelation, Sasarai lost his True Earth Rune to Luc, who then used it to gather the remaining True Elemental Runes. Sasarai then took his forces and joined the Fire Bringer to stop Luc, who planned to destroy his True Wind Rune. After the war, he returned to Harmonia with the True Earth Rune, and was visibly shaken from his ordeal with Luc. He sent Nash Latkje to Budehuc Castle to keep an eye on the mysterious phenomenon taking place. Over time, Sasarai came to accept who he was, yet that he was not controlled by it. Sasarai continued to amass political and magical power at a time when the Temple is losing power to an aristocracy that is angered by the Temple's policy towards the Grasslands, and the treaty the Temple signed. When a wave of merchants from 49 companies in Harmonia set shop in Budehuc Castle, Sasarai heads there to monitor the sudden flux of Harmonian business.
